Chose Her Over Me

It wasn't like I loved you.

You weren't everything to me.

I didn't watch all that you do,

I just sat and left you be.

Really it was only a crush,

It's not like I ever obsessed.

Your stare barely caused a blush.

It's nothing I've never confessed.

When you met her, I vanished,

You just stopped noticing me.

Trying so hard made me famished.

I wasn't the one you wanted to see.

We weren't meant to be,

There's no point getting mad.

Forgetting the past is key,

A bruised ego was all I had.

Now you chose her over me,

Frustration is all I feel.

But I'm not too hurt, you see,

'Cause I know it wasn't real.

this makes me feel all psychological. i'm sensing some reaction formation in this poem. it makes me feel like maybe it was important and she is trying to make it seem like she never really felt the way that she did. but it's perfectly okay to feel that way. i would have been devastated if it were me. but, anyway, back to the poem: this is a really good write, thanks for sharing :]
