Unto the RoadA Poem by Alona RivikaI was digging through old stuff and I found something I wrote when I was around the age of 15. I like it and wanted to share it. I haven't had much time, but I hope to write more soon.If people were more careful with their words the world would
be a less intimidating place. Judgment is a trait of survival. It is a skill
which is learned. Never live by anyone’s idea of worth, for which your life
will not be worth living for. Theories and concepts should enumerate from ideas
of your own. Don’t let the opinions of others operate your mind. Don’t let the
blind steer your desires unto a different road. Although it is best to keep your
mind open rather than narrow, you must individually find the road you want to follow.
The world is in flux. Dreams and philosophies evolve. Those dreams and
philosophies are spun from a web that goes too far back to follow. A drop of
water forms into a vast ocean. It is cause and effect. The reason being is ever-changing.
No regrets, because regret is lost in explanation. I cannot regret, because all
it is, is cause and effect. Life is a chain of dominoes. That is why doors are
always open, and stories are forever spoken. I will one day write my own, but
for now I must learn unto which road to follow. © 2014 Alona Rivika |
