Lily

A Poem by AlmostWhatIWant

She spread our message without fear
Never hesitated, spoke clear
Her bravery awarded her a cell
Doctors and pills, a white hell

I haven't spoken to her since they found her out
Her parents heard her but only listened to their doubt
Now, she sits somewhere I cannot reach
I'm sure they gave her that old 'This is just a phase' speech

But rather than say it and let well enough be
They locked her up, where no one would see
Treated her like some kind of psycho
Maybe she's okay, but I'll never know

So I try to carry out her ideals and beliefs
I hope that I can channel her through me
In some way, I want her to be alive as she was
Not the mind they rewrote for her with drugs

Perhaps shes fine and is just keeping low
Maybe she's okay, but I'll never know
