Show Them

Show Them

A Poem by AlmostWhatIWant

And so when the masters that hold your will
Decide to look down at you, and you in your lowest
Cannot look up and see any good
Show them

Show them you are no fool
You are no sheep to be led
You have your reasons
But you are not too proud
To listen to reason

Show them you are no example to be made
None shall follow you as you have gone
None shall surpass you in your ways
You are unique and imitation shall not be possible

Show them that if they have the power
You have the heart
You have the will
You have the defiance
To cut free and clear of it

And so said the pawn to his masters
That if ever he should see the day
Where his position looked not honorable
That he shall let the king fight the footman himself
And what a spectacle it would be
