Eyes of Sea and JadeA Poem by Allyson Wolfe
Sitting on the stone benches underneath that crescent moon,
I gaze upon the round leaves like golden coins, littering the forest floor. He tells me to look up and that is what I'll do, I gaze upon an indigo sky. Swirls of silver and bronze softly intertwining to form diamonds on indigo velvet. There is no other I'd choose to be with, this master of the arts. I gaze upon his eyes, shades of jade and sea, golden birds flying across the gentle sloping hemisphere. The world is seen within his knowledgeable eyes. This man- master of the arts- in eyes of blue and green. He can see it all. The Ulysses of our time. He's seen the world front and back, can map it out like magic. Slay no monsters, yet he did seek the villains of this era. And as I gaze upon this indigo sky, swirling gems and topaz litter us with light, a crescent moon offering a still break amidst the swirls, I will ponder you. I will think of you and your capabilities. And in my swim through eyes of sea and jade I'll try to reach out and understand that which makes you walk and talk and fly and breathe and make me love you so. I look back down, to golden leaves like golden coins...
