The Trees

The Trees

A Poem by Allyson

Have you ever wished to breathe amidst the trees?

Dance around the stars

Fly among the bees

Have you ever wished to swim the deepest seas?

Sing the highest notes

Float upon the breeze

Those who only wish can never truly receive

The deepest of desires

The smallest of all pleas

You can laugh and play, dance, and swim the deepest seas

Sing the highest notes

Float upon the breeze

This is when you have all hope, when will decree

That you decide your fate

And laugh at disagrees

Just remember dear child to come and visit me

The one who sits alone

And drinks the sweetest teas

That I have all the answers; I have your greatest needs

I keep them in a box

For days just like these

So here are all your dreams, go at them with ease

For they too have been waiting

To breathe amidst the trees.
