A Poem by Chris Burns
"

What do you see when you close your eyes?

"
I'm my darkest days, and brightest nights.
I'm the things I remember to forget when I can not write...
My wrongs. I'm the interpretation of my own misinterpretations.
The living contraction, black skin, white mans mannerisms.
The thoughts I never think, I fill you up when all I want to do is sink.
On the brink of extinction from this life as I know,
this world has grown cold. The days are sdrawkcab.

There are so many lost souls, the game gets old when you are at the finish line
Knowing its time to drop another rhyme.
To finish what you started to die a martyr.
all in the name of the divine within.
I start where I end, these words are truth, I cannot pretend,
that this is the me that you see.
But it is the me I one day hope to be.
It wont make sense because you wont open your eyes.
This life I have lived was once full of lies.
But the truth will not be silenced this is no surprise.
My voice is heard and my words are strong, I wonder how long
Humanity will sing this out of tune song.
