A day all mine

A day all mine

A Poem by Alex Ware
"

Appreciate the new dawn

"

A day all mine

As the new dawn rises, ethereal stillness, unbroken solitude of a frozen landscape thrown into fiery luminescence.

You are there with me.

We witness the birth of a fragile new day, yet undecided, fresh eyed and full of wonder, we're grateful in its presence.

You smile at me just as warmly.

The night is but an ageing day, shivering with fear, chances never known and never taken, life having slipped away into the cold.

A whole world ends with beauty all its own.

For all the night can offer, it lacks comfort and promise, is left to secrecy, desperation, young chances grown too old.

Greater losses than I've ever known.

We start this day together, the giving light and warmth tickles us, teases us to out-breaking comfort, laughter, walk together hand in hand.

Through a landscape yet unknown, but clearly so sublime.

Our new world had much to give us, its own story, sunshine, hail, rain, frost and breeze, blessings and curses in equal measure in this land.

It hardly matters, not one bit, a day enchanted or else damned, it's brand new and all mine.

You paint a picture with just a few words. A very romantic picture it is, indeed!
