Live one life until you're deadA Poem by Alex WareYou've only got your own life to live.Live one life until you’re dead What if no two days were the same, One spent as a doctor, another a schoolchild, maybe one a plumber or Indian beggar or f**k knows what, Every day a whole new kind of game.
If a change is as good as a rest Wouldn’t you always feel rested, Always embracing the nuances of a new life, sights sounds and smells, new stimuli, surely you’d never get bored, Always caught up in some new test
Imagine each day you woke up in someone elses skin and shoes and got to make love to someone elses wife at the start of the day, or drink a whole new type of s****y instant coffee in a different office with a different biscuit to soak it up.
Is each life in its own way uniquely s**t? You’d quickly see what each life has in common, wake up and get dressed, never enough sleep, wishing you were somewhere else no matter where you were, Not appreciating where you are one bit.
I guess it’s better to live one life instead At least then you know where you stand, who your friends are, what you’re supposed to be interested in, aspire to and make your own, And barely change your mind until you’re dead. © 2017 Alex WareReviews
