My Roots Have ChangedA Poem by AllmaxLifeFlowers wilted, slumped over almost dead. The sun does not shine as it once did. Moon is an off shade of grey, that does not reflect. A river flows to the ocean, which looks almost sick. Grass grows in sorrow, cries tears of shame. A tree looks down and says, " My roots have changed ". Bird chirps, but the sound falls on deaf ears. Time had passed since then, perhaps even years. All has gone sour, like cheap wine in a glass. Flies buzz around the corpse, of an old dead cat. Decaying there alone, the smell of sulfur and gas. Flower is dead now, and has turned a flat color of black. The sun has stopped shining, and seems to implode. The moon is drifting towards it, as her wings unfold. River flows backwards, and has become the ocean. The grass is not growing, and has no motion. Bird is petrified to the limb, of the tree which just sits. Time is furious, and with vengeance it hits. Glass is broken, and the pieces are adrift. The cat now a pile of bones, the smell gone with it. Wind had not blown, still and silent... © 2010 AllmaxReviews
