Scared

Scared

A Story by ARP

We’ve all been scared before. This time, I was reminded of how scared I am of you sometimes. The way you yell when you’re angry. It’s scary. Sometimes you throw the things in your hands on the ground. Hearing you yell like that makes me scared. It’s a kind of fear that only yelling triggers. Even when my carpentry teacher yells at us it’s scary. It’s the intense, angry yelling that makes me so scared.

I try to ignore it and move on but the way she ran outside to see what was wrong really scared me. He was so angry at the oil filter. Why? I don’t know but it’s how he gets so angry at little things not working that scares me. He gets so angry sometimes that I think he would hit me, and he has before. It was a spanking but it hurt like hell. Scared me so much too. I tend to cry when he yells and cusses like he does. I know there’s other people who’ve experienced this. This is for the scared little girls who ran away scared and crying.
