Discovering Twilight

Discovering Twilight

A Poem by Allen Smuckler
"

picture: Deerfield Beach, Fla. - 2010

"

I’m smiling while sitting at

the kitchen table

reawakening to the

falling twilight and

the fading of love’s

presence.

Darkness and

dread become

my companion,

as fear

turns to fright

and all within me

near withers.

The circle of life

and living,

brings about

the promise,

and hope

of a new

inspirational day.

I’ll mark on

the calendar,

the genesis of

the day’s discovery;

happiness and love

found once more.

Such is the magic

and beauty

of life.

As we wait for

the twilight,

night turns

to dawn …

hand in hand.

After Kate Little received my "new" poem based on her review of my original poem "Discovery", she reworked my new poem "Twilight's Discovery" into "our" poem in "Discovering Twilight". Got it? But we're not finished yet...I then tweaked our poem into Discovering Twilight 2" (1/25/11)... Whew! You have to keep reading now; you've come this far.
