Get Up

Get Up

A Poem by Allen Smuckler
"

I't's not how many times you fall...it's how you get up after each one picture: Bonita Springs Fla... (Lovers Key)

"

I’m not quite sure

what loneliness is,

loneliness is this.

I can’t describe

the feel I feel

but certainly

it’s real.

I throb inside

most everyday

and everyday I sigh.

Get up and do

what’s right

at least.

Spread wings

and soar so high.

Be brave and

show your strength

inside.

Show courage,

stand up tall.

Ignite that fire

in your gut.

Get up and

show ‘em all

I know Lover's Key! It does take courage to keep getting up. The Gulf always helped me to stand. There is something about the water, Allen. Angi~

I love the words you placed with the photo and the photo you placed with the words, very nice meaning in this.

Loneliness is the worst feeling to miss someone we once had such access to is the g of deprivation that laments the soul

Wasn't it Woody Allen who said something about most of success being attributed to just showing up? I felt this from your poem but in a much more positive and poetic form--lovely work!

I rarely include the photo within my review, but the image of the solitary eagle, going about his daily errands, never asking whether he wants to or not, is so apropos of this writing. Most of us, PARTICULARLY writers, but most all humankind live in doubt as to whether there's any point in our daily necessities, whether anyone cares. The answer is to just put one foot in front of the other, to "fake it 'til you make it", and, usually, purpose will reveal itself, just as that sub-surface, silvery salmon did to the eagle, which it would not, were you to have stayed in bed, or nest. Very challenging piece, Nella.

Allen,
That is an awesome photo.
We can be the busy person around or have all sorts of friends and people around us all the time, and yet deep inside we can still be that lonely one. But we get up and show them all that on the outside we are not so lonely but of course in the end its the inside that really matters. (to me anyway) lol
Wonderful inspriational poem, just wonderful
