In 1972 you were a young man. Funny how we feel so old when we are young and see the real world. I like the logic of the poem. Sometime the old memories can revive some hope and some dreams. Thank you for a excellent poem.

You are so brilliant! The words and images of this poem are so vibrant and expressive. Even at my young age, I enjoy looking back over my early twenties and teens. It can be good and bad, remembering those times, but it always makes me appriciate where I came from and who I am. Very nicely written, my friend!
love is so flippin' intoxicating when it's new. one of the saddest things i ever heard was i had asked an ex why don't we do the things we used to do? and they answered: "because that was when we first dated, couples aren't like that after they've been dating as along as we have." sigh.
This was a great walk through memory. Not too sentimental just enough color, and place to capture the snippets of time. Made me remember a question I asked my mom when I was ten..."Am I old yet?" She just smiled.
Sighs...
When I was younger, though I didnt have the best life, I wish I would have cherished them more.
Memories, no matter, good or bad, seep deep into our soul and leave us...memories of a long time ago...Nice writing!
