Ophiuchus

Ophiuchus

A Poem by Allen Smuckler
"

Are we even aware...Only Ophiuchus knows.

"

Such a virtue

taken by

itself,

and then it’s you

that appears…

So I lose

my Libraness

and

become a Virgo,

as we add

another,

and try to

understand…

Am I still

the same,

or have I

become

what I dared not?

Have I gained

a new me,

or lost, what I

never had?

Only Ophiuchus knows for sure ...

Not much for signs of the heavens, but you wrote this very well. I'm just a sagitarius, cannot tell you the importance of that, and I don't really care. :)

have I become what I dared not? Now that is a question for us all to ask

Just Wiki'd a few articles to refresh my memory of who and what Ophiuchus was. In light of that newly-gained info, the poem makes a great deal more sense to me:
As our labelling is changed, and those around us foist ever more recalibrations upon us, does that actually change us? Or must we always keep the truth of what we are and wish to be sacrosanct from the labels and perceptions of others? Very thought-provoking!
