Veil of Myst

Veil of Myst

A Poem by Allen Smuckler
"

an ekphrastic poem

"

Veil of Myst (an ekphrastic poem)

based on an Acrylic w/mixed medium

on canvas by Victoria Harper.

Motionless and steps beneath the falls

a dream-like queen bathed unaware

eyes see more than she could discern

ripples caressed her body, ghosted in the myst.

images sprinkled from the source in time

elements seduced the moment as she

gracefully entered the depths of her soul.

Still torn between lust and love … alone

she wondered with her inner voice

could this finally be her essential self.

The veil of myst settled on her breasts,

while maidens scrubbed her new found land,

the sea erupted in waves of fantasy

she never imagined or understood …

Love the feeling and the imagery

I appreciate your inspiration to be a mix of paint. The ekphrastic poem has a great veil, a direction, guiding light as it is, with actual paint while the poem beautifully explains the visuals of caress and caring

Wish the painting loaded up, all the computer shows is a blue square with a question mark. But even without the visual prompt, the poem was much enjoyed. Thanks for sharing.

I love to write about art. Since I cannot see the art you've featured, suffice to say that your writing is vivid & detailed enuf so we don't really need it! (((HUGS)))
