my dirty shoe

my dirty shoe

A Poem by Allen Smuckler
"

trauma in the closet

"

I lost a dirty

shoe today

searched for

the entire day.

Couldn’t remember

if I

left it,

or someone in need

simply

took it.

Doesn’t really

matter

I suppose.

It was just

a dirty

old shoe …

but it was

my shoe

and I miss

it still …

I'm glad you had a connection with that show and I am sorry you lost it. But perhaps some homeless man has now made the perfect imperfect pair.

I very much like the feel of these word - simple, make you smile. Just as life should be :D

Life make us appreciate some things. A good pair of shoes. We do like. I liked the logic and honest thoughts in the words my friend. Thank you Allen for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

You are welcome Allen.
and if it were taken by a man with no shoes, then it went for a good cause. Often in life we have relationships which may end up being far from perfect...but we love them anyway because there is so much history between us...

You are attached to that shoe. Doesn't matter whether it is dirty or not. You miss it and II hope you find it soon.

I find this amusing and still slightly sad. Maybe it's because I'm an overly empathetic mushy mush person. I love how you take the mundane trifling of everyday life and give it meaning.

I guess you might have to place signs around town for lost shoes. But then who can walk in your shoes?
Glad to see an old friend writing.

Yes siiirrrr. You are welcome. I hope all is well...
It's funny how we rely on objects and miss them when they're gone. I recall accidently leaving a calculater in a shopping basket once and feeling terrible on the way home after going over the bridge.

This has character to it. I like it.
