Dark Corners

Dark Corners

A Poem by Allen Smuckler

to pay it forward, be true

it's not all about you

but being part of the test

make us happy

place a smile on our face...

…and equally important, we share the good. The small things that allow us to smile or feel warm in our hearts...simplify what we can… if you will.

...gloriously, anyone can do it, just sit  for a couple of minutes, take a breath, and look around or reminisce....so easy to see, love is...:)  all around us…find  a friend or stranger...and let them in on it...

take the time to lean on each other

                  btw...

dark places are only corners

of our minds where the light

hasn't quite crept in yet...

so stick out your tongue,

notice all that is good and

taste the beautiful dawn...

Your message is one that I will hold close to my heart...On days of dismal thought, I will hold on to your words. Obstacles in life can be hard to overcome, but with inspiration and a strong will, we can get through difficult times. There is light within the dark corner. Thank you for sharing.

This is different for you....glad to see you approach a different style of writing. It's not something I was predicting to read. It read like a love psalm..full of beauty...and wisdom.

You need not say anything else beyond these lines...
'to pay it forward, be true
it's not all about you'

I love the message and the structure of this piece

'dark places are only corners
of our minds where the light
hasn't quite crept in yet...'

You have so much to fit into such a short poem. I was entertained and inspired. What else could you ever want to accomplish with a piece of writing?

I love that last stanza! There is so many things to discover in this world and you've shown me that perhaps I ought not to be afraid of what's new! Beautiful wording, great flow. You know, suddenly I found myself staring at your profile this morning, but I don't wonder why I'm staring at it. I just move my cursor across the screen and click on your writing. Because I realized, that's why I'm here. To read something magnificent.

I love this Allen, especially the last stanza--(she said with her tongue sticking out!)

It would be a much better world if we could all just care a little bit more... find the joys and shine the light... As you say, it really isn't that difficult... it just takes a little effort... Thank you, Allen!
