Beware the Rose

Beware the Rose

A Poem by Allen S. Thomas

Beware the Rose

I like her I like her I really do!

The rose is covered in thorns,

Her hair is so blond and her eyes so blue,

The rose is covered in thorns,

Her hips curved and chest so full,

The rose is covered in thorns,

I want her I want her oh I really do!

The rose is covered in thorns,

I am the one she wants I just know it’s true,

The rose is surrounded by weeds,

Its flesh is covered in thorns,

She loves me she told me so!

A masked person hides their identity,

The rose is covered in thorns,

We will get married and live happily ever after,

Beware the beautiful rose,

It is covered in thorns…
