I Will Wait

I Will Wait

A Poem by Allen S. Thomas

In the sea so far away I will wait until another day,
Days have past, years gone by,
And yet I am still here waiting.
You have gone so far away,
Left me here all alone,
And yet I am still here waiting.
The young rebels crack jokes,
The old and grey whisper amongst themselves,
But still, I lie here waiting.
I'm on my bed with a faint trickle of light in my eyes,
Finally, I can stop waiting because my time has come.
Let us be together forever,
One life ends, and our new journey begins...
