You SayA Poem by Debbie Lyn Jones
We know them... the people that wear a mask of being a devout, kind spirit ... but we see them for who they really are. You Say... You say to him - I'm a good and
divine person deserving of
your adoration and love You say you are
a devout and cherished soul one deserving
of angelic wings and flowing gown You say "I don't like them" You plot and
scheme to ensure their downfall You're smug and
trite and want them to feel your power The power you
wield to continue to pain their life You say - to all See me? See all
that I am? More than you ever
will be more than you can
ever hope You say to him - Please Lord,
hold me close Give... my
deserved blessings Crown a halo
upon my head My bible is in
my hands you see I am always
upon my knees for you Always singing
your praises Always devoted
to loving you You say - Look at them what clever thing
can I do - so they know their place what plans can I
devise with others what fun can be
found for one so undeserving Hear me - as I whisper to
others See me as I laugh
as they hide their tears What pleasure this
is - to step down on their fingers Barely holding on
they are... barely.... Lord - see me Hear my voice
lift up for only you Let your sun
shine and warm my face Let your angels
know my name I dance
divinely for you I know every
quote your son has said The location of
every important passage I keep the
Sabbath in my heart You say to them - Dare you talk to
me? Dare you take me on? What fun it is to
cause you such misery Myself & my
friends - all such exquisite memories Get up - we are
not done yet Who ARE you
calling to on your knees there is NO ONE to
help you keep you safe from
us... Praying? I laugh that you
think YOU will be heard. You say to him - I praised your
name every hour Say how very
blessed I am - to all those around me Not a day goes
by without my crying “Hallelujah”
I await the day
I will stand in judgment before you Lord The day I get
what I have so earned. Debbie Lyn Jones - August 27, 2012
