Jack and Jill (50 years later)

Jack and Jill (50 years later)

A Poem by BlueEyedAngel

Old Jack and Jill
walked hand in hand
As they walked up
that big steep hill.

From their minds eye
they could never erase
The first day they met
at their secret place.

It happened so long ago,
at this very well.
That secret they kept hidden
and never did tell.

When they reached
their destiny,
The heart Jack carved
they still could see.

Each of their names and date
they could read,
Along with the date they
were married.

They spread out a blanket
on the lawn,
held each other tight and Jack
began to yawn.

Jack and Jill knew they were
still together
for that old moon back then
knew they were true lovers.

The moon above, decided to
take a peek at them.
He grinned from ear to ear, for
he remembered em

Jack held onto Jill so tight
on that very bright night.
Jill made a wish and hoped
it would come true.
Her wish would soon be granted,
for that old moon heard her, too.

Jill had fallen asleep, embraced
in Jacks arms.
He began wondering if this was
his lucky charm.

As he fell asleep that night,
the moon shined real bright.
The moon knew they had the same dream,
granted their wish by sending it through the moonbeams.
