Just A Country Girl

Just A Country Girl

A Poem by BlueEyedAngel

I am just a country girl,
whose halo tilts to the side.
I can never be perfect,
but try to be.
That's why I ended up
losing my wings.

I can be loveable, as long
as you don't cross my path.
That's when I get hot tempered
and out of my mouth, I spit fire.
Some things just can't be
controlled.

I would give the shirt off my
back to someone in need,
But best close your eyes
you won't like what you see.
Now that, I can guarantee.

I can be crafty, turn old things
into new.
Take machines apart, save
every part down to the screws.

I can be a very sweet person,
as long as you aren't sour to me.
Then my sweetness turns bitter
that side, too, you don't want to see.

I love to be challenged, try to
figure things out without going
and reading the directions first.
If I can't, some I easily give up on.

I love to write poetry and stories
and hope I touch someone's life.
I also love to take a lot of pictures
for there is so much beauty around me.

Overall, I try to treat others like
I, too, would want to be treated.
A friend who will be there with
you to the end, no matter what.
