Lonely

Lonely

A Poem by BlueEyedAngel

So many memories
go through my head,
as I lay alone here
tonight in bed.

You held me so close
to you at night,
made me feel secure
when held so tight.

You told me many time's
you loved me, only me.
Yet, here in this cold bed,
one person you can see.

You promised to protect me,
be by my side, you misled.
You could have chosen to tell
the truth, been further ahead.

How can you even say
I am important to you,
when these games keep
going on, needs stopped too?

It's your decision to make.
Choose to go along with them,
their games, lies, or take
a stand, end this rotten mess.

Being in control isn't how love
is to be shown, you compromise.
You don't let others hurt them,
that's how love fades, it dies.

Sadness and loneliness singe the words of this poem. There is a certain calm on the surface but the questions laying below are loud and clear. Great poem.
