The Firefly #1

The Firefly #1

A Poem by All 2 Silly
"

A semi-silly verse

"
In summer fields on moonless nights
a constant flipping on of lights,
a myriad of tiny flares
by luminescent derrieres
like little bitty lights you see
that decorate a Christmas tree,
are fireflies- the only critter
made by God with bums that glitter.
THE FIREFLY #1
Scientific studies might
be possible to shed some light
why these bugs with built-in torches
hang around the lights on porches.

Maybe lightning bugs perceive
or in a simple way believe
porchlights represent a force
or spirit of a higher source
from whom is felt all blessings flow
to set their little hearts aglow
and causes them to congregate
each night around my porch at 8.
If this is true, then everyday
the fireflies will come to pray
and on the darkest lonely night,

I am the keeper of the light.
