Thunderstorm

Thunderstorm

A Poem by Aliyah

She told me she feared commitment
But tattoos traced her body snd piercings were implanted inside her skin .
I missed her .
I didn't miss her body
I didn't even miss her face although she was so beautiful .
I missed her presence and her soul
I missed how she turned simple stars into constellations and the world into color .
But I am not the Friday night you crave or a Sunday morning
I am a 2am on a Tuesday with gun shots being fired somewhere deep in the woods
I am the moment before a thunder storm
But you don't see the lightening within me just the echos in the distance
