The Bud or the Girl

The Bud or the Girl

A Poem by Alister Flik

This lovely flower holds double purpose—

Fitting to its connection with a soul.

Dual design is not new, I confess,

But twice, blooming image can yet console.

The first, in sculpture, compelling my heart

To draw near snug mem’ries, stopping to dream.

Its paint raises my spirit’s cry for art.

Dyes of cool passion bud in swirling stream.

But this bloom is more than colorful craft.

Its delicate beauty reminds of Lou

Whose color and life bide in what is laughed,

And laughter brings light to a darkened view.

And which more divine, the bud or the girl?

The latter wins, far more value than pearl.

No, your references to sculpture, paint, and the girl as a pearl are truly lovely, Sublime and divine. They rhythm is right on. A nice succinct work as well which is difficult to master. Truly delightful. I am glad to have found it. Thank you for sharing.
Light,
Siddartha
