The Tapering Thinness of My Bends

The Tapering Thinness of My Bends

A Poem by Alister Flik

You snap me again!

I'm made of metal that only bends so far.

Yet, you push and you pull!

I buckle under the pressure.

How much longer will this broken fram show any picture of life?

What am I to do?

Bend, kneel at my own shards and pick them up.

Saying to you,

"I stumbled," and smile my shattered smile of lost hopes and dreams.

I cannot let you know you've done this.

I know this is only your reaction to the world; to evil.

But you are my world.

And then, are you not my evil too?

My sister broken frame, if only you could touch me

Without your jagged hands cutting my tender, shallow form.

If only my own twisted limbs could reach you

Before falling detached and dead beneath me.

The imagery you have here is great.I think it reaches out to the readers, in which many can probably relate. Good job!

I think its very interesting. I like the use of words and imagination. I like how you tell the story of how given the chance people can literally destroy until we're nothing and picking up our own pieces

What to say? I could be boring; say what is obvious: I like writing. I could be bizarre; say something random: I like frogs. I could be mysterious; say nothing: What do you want from me? Ask. .. more..
