An Old Message

An Old Message

A Poem by Alister Flik

 What hope would there be

if you did not want me?

If I were truly worthless?

Should I not have pride

in the fact that I am yours?

Created with powerful,

Unstoppable,

Irrevocable purpose.

Made to be a working,

Beautifully broken,

Puzzle part that fits

In a masterpiece started long ago.

My meaning,

My worth,

My life comes from you.

Because you want me

I am needed;

I am here.

And,

I have hope.

It annoys me when, with little effort, I can find verses that refute a major point of a preachers sermon. Information is so readily available it's appalling that they wouldn't do the research... I have to assume this guy misplaced his stone tablets! It is all too evident that not only did Jesus count us as friends, but as fully adopted siblings with all the rights to the inheritance of the Father as he had.I don't mean to go off, but it's just inexcusable!Other than that... your piece is excellent and filled with hope and encouragement. I apologize for the big footprints I left on the soapbox..Love the piece... And this is awesome!

I don't think most realize that, like Pharoah, we serve a purpose in spite of ourselves... Better to do it from this direction!

I love it... Gordon

What to say? I could be boring; say what is obvious: I like writing. I could be bizarre; say something random: I like frogs. I could be mysterious; say nothing: What do you want from me? Ask. .. more..
