Lost and Found

Lost and Found

A Poem by Alister Flik

What does the lost woman see in the Sun?

Does she recognize its glory or Grace?

Does she look at its truth, or turn and run,

Unable to accept its knowing face.

She calls it a lie of the dumb and weak,

Saying, it reveals nothing to the world.

She is afraid to listen to it speak.

She defies it and screams, with fingers curled,

"No one can control any part of me.

I am my ruler, not something like you."

Others look on and pity what they see.

The poor lost woman knows not what to do.

But the Sun looks down and sees to her heart,

And cradles her world from falling apart.

A nice little write with a moralistic outlook. It tells its story well. I think you were trying to be allegorical in your story crafting. I don't think it came out as strongly as you intended. Interesting work none the less.Doc.

I like how this poem didn't seem blatantly religious but was subtle about what your referring to. It does seem abit ironic how the woman could so strongly resist something that no one can live without: the sun, that provides light to the world. And basically without it nothing could exsist.Good job,Sarah
