Have come to quiet the voices to wrap them in sea-fret, to set them aside for a while. Rest ankles in campion barrows, to search for the wonder we lost in the chase for tomorrow. To smile with the guise of a child, if the moment be woken,
And, should it arise from my somber entwines,
exalt in the pleasure of being, supine in the seconds of mystical present. Alive in the genuine time of my life.
Have come to quiet the voices To wrap them in sea- fret to set Them aside for a while
"exalt in the pleasure of being". Those words speak to me Ali, saying it is time to live in the now. That is not an easy thing to do. Many live on memories alone, some look ahead in time, but living each day and truly appreciating each moment is difficult and yet can be so rewarding. Yes, wrap those voices up and leave them for a while and for a chance of tranquility, for some peace. Beautiful lines, especially your word choice in the first stanza.

As I get older, the velocity of days seems shocking, it can feel as if we are living in a blur, with some constant inner monologue scratching in the background.
I wish to slow, to stop the rain, to catch the feather, and breathe the wind, taste the dew...I knew all this once, and it will always be treasured- would love to live it again.
Thank you Chris
all the best to you

I know what you mean regarding time passing rapidly. I feel 18 still some days and then I look at my grandchildren and wonder what the hell happened! I do try and slow down. My love of nature helps. All the best Ali.

I was in a pub some months back, and this big old unit came up to me, and said, "hello, do you remember me?"- ( no clue!)- he then told me his Mum, used to bring him into the shop that I ran, when he was a baby, and I used to give him toys to play with!-
Mind blown!-
Take care!

See - where do the years go? It is mind blowin. Take care Ali. Love your poetry by the way.
Captivating piece - It seems to encapsulate that singular moment of divinity within a person's soul. The wordplay is even more poignant; as you finish hao you started - a completion of a circle of an emotional peak ... :-)

Beautifully modulated words that achieve what I think only poetry can - the sound, the sense and the tempo working together to produce profound meaning

I am a very unlikely scribbler of verse- but there is that otherness of language- the subtle combinations of rhythmic words- that draws me in.
Thank you kindly and best wishes
You are coming with Your most wondrous, deeply touching spiritual pieces, and here is something I wish to write alike, I feel selflessness... complete selflessness... to abandon Your own pain and swim into the air of a child laughter... to connect with that mysterious power out there and get high, very beautiful my friend, very moving, tender sensitive and loving.

This is about being out of sync with "real time".
When I was but knee- high to a grasshopper ( and, of course, unencumbered by the atlas of adulthood) I ran close to the earth- both literally and metaphorically - taking in the scents delighting in the lights and color- everything resonated in high definition. I was "there" in that very moment, I rose with sap of the beech-wood the song of the blackbird and found contentment in the branches of trees.
As the years passed my eyes have grown grey- the days fly like wind, and it is all I can do to remember the shouting shapes that speed past in a blur of something half recognized.
I cannot match the velocity of this life, and it is to this end, that i seek the rarest of moments in the hope of sharpening the vision even for the briefest of stays.
Sending you good thoughts and a lovely bag of chips
Take care of yourself and speak soon.
I write because I cannot paint.
I enjoy the flavor of words, their subtle tastes and textures.
I savor their spice and their sea salt.
They are washed in on tides of thought, and i comb the strand.. more..
