Like you Matter - Picking up the Pieces

For all the times
you've expressed how you've felt
because in some ridiculous desperate moment
you thought you actually mattered
Let's talk this thru
Just as you would do
in hopes you could help someone
see how important they are
no matter how much hurting is endured
Dueling your worth and when to stand your ground
Keeping in mind others will not treat you the same
Your struggle is less important
viewed as wrong
on levels of unique visions
due to the blind unwillingness
that time is not given
because you are not worthy
of the common ground
on the same speed as others
in constant conflict
and you walk with your head down
All while thinking
you don't want to make this about you
Hoping in some spec you matter
unselfishly or egotistically
Living events and changes
you've been dealt like a deck of cards
Digging ♠
for diamonds ♦
discovering all of the different layers like a mystery ♣
All for Love ♥
Where you've given
the bricks of your security
to courage
to bash out the pain
to pass to the next day with the words
You only have today so make it count
VS
You only have two hands
one to help yourself
and the second to help others
Fumbling your fingertips
trying to pick up the pieces and carry on
Knowing life does not wait
When you don't have a voice and your opinion doesn't matter......
