Prima Ballerina

Prima Ballerina

A Poem by Star Cross

When the stage called her name,
She took the first steps and danced.
Gracefully,
Beautifully,
Mesmerizing.

Her body quivered,
Thoughts scattered.
Lips stayed smiling,
Fiery eyes remained lit.

Then, she collapsed.
Her flaws were revealed,
Everything she had worked for was gone.
The show was over.

Curtains fell.
