Lights

Lights

A Poem by Star Cross

As the city's lights burns
Silence purifies the streets.
Our hearts begins to die
As the ember grows.
Muffled screams chokes,
As soft whispers weep lightly.

It seems as if our mind is taken away
To a place where it is unknown.
Everything collapses while the sun still glows.
Having to try to rebuild our dreams with cement
It seems as if it would never dry.
Empty hope sweeps our souls
As we try to sob all the pain and sorrow out
We find that there is nothing to cry.

Our mirror reflects our lives,
As we see and repeat the same things endlessly.
Losing was never an option
Neither was winning.

In reality, there is nothing to live for.
