20 Tips to Improve Your MemoryA Story by Alina TutorZDo you want to
improve your memory? You will be able to remember larger amounts of
information. It will be easier for you to work, learn and take part in social
life (real and virtual). All of
this and even more things are possible if you use certain principles of
remembering. Our memory can be
phenomenal! Just set a goal. If you’re ready to improve your memory, the following
20 tips are for you! To have an amazing
memory, you just need to: 1. Love riddles and
puzzles. Psychologists proofed that doing riddles and puzzles really helps, and
it is useful not just for kids but for their parents too. 2. Do mathematics,
count more, and count everything. Forgot about a calculator, don't use it, use
your brain. In one month counting will become easier for you, it will be your
habit and you will be able to shock your friends and family with your unusual
skills. 3. Avoid sedentary
lifestyle (physical inactivity). An active lifestyle helps to improve brain
blood circulation and supply your brain with oxygen and other nutrients. 4. Work on your
posture. If you manage to keep your back straight throughout the day, it will
also have a beneficial effect on cerebral circulation. 5. Drink more pure
water. Avoid drinking alcohol, caffeine, and carbonated beverages. It will
allow you to keep your brain and your entire body healthy. 6. Learn the proper
deep breathing through the nose. 7. Listen to
classical music. Classical music is very stimulating, it helps to focus,
affects our memory, and has a wholesome effect on our psyche. 8. Try to avoid the
constant overload in everyday life. Change your life style. For this you might
even consider searching a life coach at tutoring sites like TutorZ. 9. Learn to
remember names of familiar people. This will strengthen your memory, and
improve relationships with other people. 10. Avoid spending
a lot of time at the TV and PC. It definitely has some negative impact on the
human eye, and also makes us lazier. 11. Include
learning new things in your life. It is always useful to study a foreign
language, improve the skills of speed reading, expand your vocabulary... for
example, do you know what is phishing or moiety? You can also learn how to play
a musical instrument, sing, and dance. It all develops different types of
memory. 12. Learn manners.
It’s not a joke! Psychologists proved that it is very important to be able to
empathize and sympathize. These qualities have a beneficial effect on our
mental abilities. 13. Avoid constant
sleep deprivation. A good rest is considered to be the key to a good memory. 14. Learn the skill
of visualization. For example, you are going to a store, you are planning to
buy milk, matches, and bread. You can just imagine that all of these items are
already on an absolutely free table. Then coming to the store, you need to try
to remember your mental picture. 15. If we are
learning something new, we can also share new skills with someone. For example,
our friends and relatives. It will help to remember any study material better.
If we help a child to learn some new skills, after a few explanations you can
try to switch places with a child and ask him to teach you. 16. Make plans. If
you're going to go to another city to accomplish several important things you
need to organize everything as of a specific plan, consisting of several main
points. You should memorize this plan. 17. Associate your
emotions with any new educational material. As you know, we all really appreciate
our feelings and pay them very much attention. If in the learning process we
will use not only our brainpower but also our feelings, the studied material
will be remembered much faster. 18. Learn how to
make mental chains. For example, if you need to memorize a long shopping list,
you can mentally associate the items with each other. For example, if you
purchase milk, light bulbs, a towel, salt, bread, and tomatoes, you can imagine
that you are in the kitchen, where the light is off, and you eat tomatoes with
bread and salt out of the pot wrapped with a towel. 19. Pay great
attention to the diet. Fatty foods make a person more sleepy and passive. In
addition, it may cause an increase of cholesterol and the emergence of obesity.
And it not only impairs memory, but can cause serious disasters in the blood
vessels, such as strokes, and heart attacks. And last but not least. 20. Stay positive
and remember: You rock it! © 2017 Alina TutorZ |
