The Musings of a Reformed Drama Queen II

The Musings of a Reformed Drama Queen II

A Poem by Alina

Will she or won’t she?

skillfully guarded, as she measures my intentions

calculating her threshold for the hazards of regret?

like a sulky cat, she plays with me

turns me over…

reads the movements of my body, while stretching to the corners of the room

I want to feed her fire

I want to watch her come undone

What would it feel like to capture and hold her in the moment?

To match her body with the tempo of my own?

lips full, brimming

spilling over with words unsaid

she retreats once again

into the safety of her quiet isolation

Lovely! I feel his desire, and the frustration he must feel. It's an age old tragedy. Two people who want to jump but are too afraid.... they may let the moment pass them by. I find myself rooting for these two to advance beyond the dance. I actually read this before it's companion piece. It worked well on its own, but as a sequel of sorts, it becomes more real.
