Dancing

Dancing

A Poem by Jacob

The air was think
and the music was dim.
And we were dancing.

I hadn't danced in years.
I thought I'd forgotten how
but I just didn't have
the right parttner.

You were graceful as you guided
me along. Never stumbling only
hesitating,
not sure if this was right.

I was scared I was doing it wrong.
Taking the wrong steps, but you followed me.
We were doing it wrong together
and that made it right.

We were dancing
but you had to leave.
The music stopped
and reality
sunk in.

I

was alone.
