I wish

I wish

A Poem by Alien
"

poem written by a dramatic angsty teen that is now, 4 years later, and even angstier alcoholic adult, but with notably less drama.

"
To stand apart, remain alone/ Never have to claim a home/ By my side my shadow walks/ Into the woods with my own thoughts/ Where the animals rule, fair and just/ In they alone I place my trust.

I think the animals have the right idea. It is we humans that have fallen from the path, making rules to follow where there was none, making simple living complex with red tape and regulations, when we would have been so much happier just walking the earth, feeding from it and in return,, looking after it more than the bad tenants we have become. If we were meant to live by these rules, we would be born with an instruction manual.
Beautifully eloquent words that capture more than the sum of their parts. Great write.

This maybe drama, but to me this is realistic.. In the end we only have ourselves left with our thoughts.. You portray the emotions well..
