Wake upA Poem by Joseph S
Wake up
Roll out of bed Eye ajar, midnight pulses Tentatively I rise, legs swung over the edge of the world The water's near, I take the plunge Smelling lavender and vanilla I am born anew droplets of life drip down the drain I dry The costume fits perfectly Hiding my imperfections looking in the mirror, I peer into my soul when did all this happen? I step out the door, the blinding suns glares as ever somewhere above the clouds I cannot see. Maybe after a while, After I return to my bed After I surrender to sleep. © 2013 Joseph SAuthor's Note
