This is my new favorite term of endearment. It started after my sister began saying "You're a special snowflake" (emphasis on "special") as a joking insult whenever someone in our family did something silly or stupid. Then last year she got a Christmas ornament with a snowflake and the words "You're Special" on it, and I nearly died of happiness. (Not literally, haha.) I picked up the expression and started calling people this, though I didn't initially know why. I guess this is it.

I love the analogy! :) I've only heard of people and snowflakes being compared once...and that was by Christian Comedian Tim Hawkins! :) It is a hilarious sketch, if you ever get the chance...
I love thinking about how no 2 snowflakes are the same...and the same is to be said about people....no two people are alike. To quote Suess..
"Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than you!"

Everyone is unique, everyone is complex. To be honest, I could not understand the title until I read your note at the end.
We are all beautiful in our own way, though at times there can be no creature more nasty than man.
This is such a beautiful poem and this is why a conformity to be someone you're not stinks. Embrace uniqueness and creativity and together, in unity, the world will be so much more beautiful.

Very inspirational message.
Contrast is eye catching. Your every writing has a deeper meaning and it always encourages the reader to uplift his soul to achieve his goal.
Keep writing and stay blessed.
The format you use appears as though you're trying to imitate speech. Is that really your intention? If so then I suppose you've got it right. Other then that, this is a rather positive poem. Mostly about how everyone is special and what not.
I could be cynical and try to dismiss it and that sort of things,
But I don't think that's the right reaction.
I do believe that each person is special.
But if I had to be honest, I'd say that some people view themselves as 'Too Special'. If you know what I mean. Yes, we are all unique. Yes, we are all special. But the notion that our hardships are exclusivly ours is what deny us the idea of seeking help. And that's just bad. Not to mention that some people happen to view themselves as the epicenter of the world. Accepting that you are special is a double edged sword. Mostly because, yes, you are special. Just like everyone else.
Anyhow-- Enough with my philosopical rant.
The poem was well written and you used a nice format.
Your writing in particular and this poem specifically so often oozes with playful positivity. You make me want to snuggle a puppy. And for that, I thank you.

Yes, I suppose I was trying to imitate speech in this poem, or at least to use a more informal tone than some of my other works. You have every right to be cynical if you wish to be. I agree that people (myself included) often think too much of themselves, either that their situation is worse than everyone else's or that they are the center of everything. We all need to get out of our own heads a little more and see things from others' perspectives. I didn't intend for this poem to be something people looked too deeply into. It was more like I was thinking about the fact that I sometimes call people "snowflake," and I started making connections between human beings and snowflakes, so I decided to write down what I thought of and see where it went. But whatever interpretation you wish to draw from that is totally fine. :) Thanks for the read and the comments. I appreciate it!
Today's human world is so busy on changing themselves, they want to get better looking or more smarter, prettier and so on... But they forget to cherish their God given beauties, they hardly look at the mirror and say "this is me and imperfectly perfect me just as God made me"... We are all beautiful, we all have unique specialities which is very different from everyone else, we touch lives, build lives, and even sometimes hurt lives but that only makes us human... Our uniqueness is our strength, there will never be another person like us, we are the only one ever created, and we all have a reason to be here, to contribute in our own ways...
This is a gorgeous write, there are so many people are busy to find happiness in wrong places I must suggest them to visit your page and read how honest and happy a heart can be... God bless you frnd... Spread your enthusiastic uplifting light forever on us...
Sincerely
Dhiman
