I don’t think I’m beautiful.
		You are a miracle.
		I love the way your smile lights up the room.
I hate my smile, I think it looks dumb.
		I love the way your hair falls ‘round your face.
I hate my hair, it just won’t stay in place.
		There’s no one like you in the whole wide world.
Why can’t I look like the pretty girls?
		You are beautiful.
Do you think I’m beautiful?
	Yeah, girl, you’re so beautiful.
		You are beautiful.
Do you love me ‘cause I’m beautiful?
	Yes.
		I love you.
	I’ll love you if you give yourself to me.
		I love you, and I gave Myself for you.

	Yes!

This is real.

I can’t do this anymore.
	Then you don’t really love me.

Do you still think I’m beautiful?
	No.
		Yes, you are beautiful.
I’m ugly.
		No!
I’m worthless.
		No!
I shouldn’t be alive.

Alicia, this is just amazing, I mean wow!!!!!!! The presentation was fabulous.... This holds a truth about our life, we question our worth but our savior our Jesus never gives up on us, as you have said he loves us just the way we are no matter how bad we think of us he loves us... i think you are amazing ..such a unique and original use of line ... very powerful as the "third" voice enters .. wow!
the cutting is emotive in that i feel such sorrow for those that are in such a state of pain ... the connection you make with Jesus helps me fold my own arms around your protagonist ...who actually is antagonist as well ...
i think you have a wonderful gift ... so glad i happened on these pages .. i am subscribing right now :) .. and will try to follow you .. your poems (that i have read) are full of honesty, integrity and such a vulnerability ... i think it is rare

That was amazing! The realistic struggle which you described has captured the inner turmoil between God and human. I have totally been there, looking up at a holy, perfect God, and thinking...there is no way that you love me. He is right there trying to tell me-yes, I'm right here, I love you, I care about you. My worst enemy is myself, and I will criticize myself to the point of tears, but God is ALWAYS just waiting for me to stop being so stubborn and just...accept...
