Candies Of The Universe

Candies Of The Universe

A Story by Alice Claire Culley

Walking. Such a simple word; such a powerful meaning for those who lack legs, for those who become snakes or fishes (depending on the type of life one wants to become). Those who have legs think it lame, something similar to the meaning of feeling lost or like how it feels to be swimming, in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, in search of the giant Manta Ray, seeing nothing but the vastness of the depths of our misunderstood molecule.
Not many get to comprehend that the molecule we inhabit, is one in a stock of an unimagined number of others. Some might be of a similar but not identical shape or structure (or of larger sizes, colours and flavours). These molecules might be like a bag of tiny little rounded candy, where one decides which flavour will be the one that will be consumed first (because of the paintings that it triggers in our brains or simply because we believe that a candy can change our next moment of life in this tiny little ball - our worldly molecule), leaving all the other sweets unattended for, what might seem to the other little balls, an eternity.

Are we candies of a superior being?
