"

tw: contains death

"

You speed down the hall, avoiding the other crewmates stares. You finally make it to Electrical, where you begin fiddling with some of the loose wires near the door.

"Well, well." Thrip's cocky voice rings from behind you. You refuse to turn around, continuing with your task. "Why so fast to leave? Realize the captain was talking about you? Hah!"

You ball one talon into a fist, anger pulsing through your veins. Thrip was... never nice to you, much less a friend. "Why are my choices any of your business?" You ask, standing up, turning around to meet their dark orange gaze. You know you want to. A voice hisses in your mind. You are flooded with shock, but you keep a straight face. What's stopping you? You shake your head, rubbing it with a talon.

"Hello?!" Thrip's voice suddenly shouts, when you realize they'd said something while you were in a daze. "I said, 'and why do you act so strange?'"

You growl, a strange urge for blood in your mouth, the want of scales beneath your talons. You launch forward, a dark fog wiping over your mind. Thrip's eyes widen, before you slam into them, slicing viciously at their throat before they can manage a scream. A moment later, you step back, a sense of -Pride? Joy? Relief?- washes over you. You then hear talon steps heading from the end of the hallway, along with a shadow growing on the adjacent wall. Hide. You leap into Admin, looking around frantically, when you spot something... a vent. In no time, you've darted in, carefully pulling the cover back over, praying that no one notices the missing screws.

You hear a cry in the hallway, and a few seconds later, the emergency meeting alarm is sounded. With no talon steps near the door, you zoom out, taking the long way around the body, hoping to maintain innocence.

You approach the table; thankfully, you're not the last one there. Achemon is sobbing, shaking miserably into Quail's shoulder. Speaking of which, her normal annoyed, sarcastic expression is replaced with one of shock and anger, the death of another crewmate sending grief and fear through her.

Navy, Arkose, and Mirror come out from a hallway on the opposite side as you sit down, their eyes full of confusion. When they seat themselves, Micah stands up, placing his front talons on the table. "Where is Thrip?" he snarls, his gold eyes blazing with fury. Achemon lets out a choked sob. "WHERE IS THRIP!?" He roars in their trembling face. Achemon sobs once again, shaking miserably. He sighs, rubbing his forehead with a talon. "Can one decently sane person explain what's wrong?"

"He-He's dead, captain." Quail's voice shakes, in a tone of hers you've never heard before.

Micah stares at her for a moment, yellow eyes wide. "What?" He finally spats after a long silence.

"It's true, captain." You suddenly speak. "I saw the body after the alarm was sounded." You maintain a straight face.

The captain looks around the table, his own shocked eyes meeting ones like his. Micah closes his eyes for a moment, silently clenching his talon into a fist. After several moments, he looks up, his blazing eyes glossed over. "I must grieve. Continue to your tasks. We-We shall talk this evening." He then turned from the table, Coal running after him.

Well done, The voice purrs again. You shake your head, ignoring the absence of your crewmates in the few moments Micah had stormed off. Well, well, done...
