Thank YouA Poem by Alice PatinkinI was lost, drowning in a deep blue sea Never did I know what you were doing for me.
You lay me to dry in a vast desert plane And alone, I built up my own garden again;
Flawed, green and delicate, but strong and proud From the blood I shed and the sweat of my brow.
You left me there, alone to live Little did I know it was the greatest gift you could give.
You led me to something I will never forget The greatest of knowledge and of treasures yet
And through the care of my soul, the care for above I found the truest, and deepest, and greatest of love.
So now I shed my tears, not now for want of your touch But for endless gratitude, friend!
I can’t thank you enough. © 2013 Alice PatinkinAuthor's Note
