Out of Sight

Out of Sight

A Poem by Alice Mumble
"

As the day fades in...and out....we are aware, and forcefully unaware, of what is suppose to be invisible when it is in fact apparent.

"
Removed from sight,
out of mind.
If I don't see the darkness
behind the smiling eyes
it doesn't exists.
If I don't hear the horror
in the forced laugh
it doesn't exist.
If I see the long sleeves
as a sign of being cold
not of bruises and cuts
then it doesn't matter.
If I pretend
that the "I love you"
is real
then the "but.." won't come.
If I hear
the noon bells bellowing at dawn
it will drown the heaving city.
If don't look in the alleys
I won't see the homeless man
rummaging through the trash cans.
If I close my eyes
I won't see the tomb stones
engraved with the generations passed and present.
If I try hard enough, nothing will exist
because there is nothing needed to exist.
But unfortunately, I don't try.
