Our Generation

Our Generation

A Poem by Alice In Wonderland

Staring at a blank page,
Will today be the day?
Is what I'm seeing worth believing,
Is the whole world fakely grieving,
Is it really what it seems to be?

No, we live in a world where,
No one questions reality,
No one fights the powers that hurt us more,
We fight for rights,
but is it right?

We fight to be free,
We fight to try to reach peace,
but what is peace without war?
Nothing, it is just a meaningless existence,
No one can be happy without another persons struggles.

I smell the hair dye fumes,
I see the open wounds,
I hear the silent cries,
But why do the men follow in line?
Why do they follow blindly into more chaos.

Our generation has seen so much,
So much violence, hate, and tragedy,
Can we ever be made whole,
Can we ever be happy?
Can we ever make this world see.

Make them see the child crying,
Hear the screaming pain,
Smell the burning bodies,
Will they open their eyes to understand,
What doesn't kill us today will forever haunt our world.

I love your concept here. And I agree. This generation...could use some help at the very least. Nice job :)
