“I did actually meet Selena in the Galleria Mall in Houston, but I didn’t say much to her because I wasn’t a celebrity. I just saw her and said hello and kept it moving. Definitely growing up in Texas, I heard her on the radio. I think listening to her album " even though I didn’t know exactly what she was saying " it helped me in the studio with my pronunciation,” Beyonce said. “I think she is a legend. I admire her. She was so talented. Even though she didn’t know who I was… I was still so excited that I got the opportunity!”

Kat DeLuna performed an adorable rendition of “No Me Queda Mas” when she was just nine-years-old! “I want to become a singer [and] be famous like Selena,” she said at the time.

“Growing up, I loved Selena’s music,” Demi Lovato said. “I was really young when she passed, so I didn’t know much about her until I got a little older. When I saw the movie, there was just some sort of connection. Even my dad is totally like the dad in the movie. It’s just so similar. There is something about the movie that was really inspiring to me. After that, you know, the songs are great, even though I don’t know what the words are. I’m learning Spanish, but I don’t know it fluently yet.”

“I feel Selena has influenced my life in tremendous ways,” said fellow tejano singer Jennifer Pena. “She was definitely a huge inspiration for me to even try singing in Spanish.”

Katy Perry discussed Selena’s influence on her career: “Someone asked me ‘What did you think of when you were a little girl relating to the Grammy’s?’ I said, ‘I remember Selena! That’s all I remember! I remember that dress " I think it was red! Or was that [Jennifer Lopez’s] interpretation of Selena? I remember the whole movie about her… and I wanted to be in that world.”

“I am named after her. She was a big deal to my family and growing up from the get-go, I knew who she was and who I was named after,” Selena Gomez said. “I got to visit her grave. I’ve actually met her family. Some of her family, and it’s such a honor to be named after someone so amazing.”

Puerto Rican singer Jennifer Lopez has always been the eternal optimist when it comes to love. The 44-year-old singer has been through divorce more than once and recently called it quits with her 27-year-old backup dancer boyfriend, Casper Smart. But Lopez is doing fine and has decided to focus on promoting her A.K.A. album, which will be released on June 17, rather than sulking in what went wrong.

Breakups can be painful and Cameron Diaz can attest to that with her split from baseball star Alex Rodriguez in 2011. “When I was going through a bit of a heartbreak a little while ago, I said to a friend, ‘Wow, this really hurts!’ And he said to me, ‘That just shows you what your capacity for loving is,'” Cameron explained. “I would rather have my heart broken a thousand times than never to love at all. I have so much love to give " I’m not empty of love, I’m full of love.” Cameron is full of love and with love comes heartbreak.

And how did this blonde beauty get over A-Rod you might ask? Pampering and keeping busy, she was in the Big Apple getting her nails done soon after they split. When trying to mend a broken heart go get pampered, it may make you feel better. But stay away from trying to get a new cut or dye your hair, now that’s a bad idea!

When relationships involve cheating, it’s safe to say it will likely not end well. This was the case with Adrienne Bailon when she found she couldn’t keep up with Rob Kardashian anymore after finding

out he cheated on her. Rob refused to give up easy, so at the time of the break up her way of getting over it was making up a fake boyfriend to email Rob so that he leave her alone.

Adrienne said of the infamous email, “That was written by me and my girl sitting on the sofa one day deciding to ourselves, ‘Well, how can we make him stop calling me?’ I got left alone. I think it worked!” Sometimes break ups can be complicated and while maybe making up a fake boyfriend isn’t always the best solution, when a relationship is toxic, make sure you get the space you need.

After being in a relationship for over a decade, how do you get over that? Zoe Saldana would be the best person to look to for answers. When talking about her failed relationship with Keith Britton she said, “…when it didn’t work [with Britton] it was heartbreaking for the both of us, but it’s life.” If you want to follow in Zoe’s footsteps the best way to get over a break up is to work, work, work. After her break up with Britton she was seen presenting at the 2011 Latin Grammy Awards, as well as working on her film Colombiana, which kept her very busy. While going through a breakup one of the things you can do is stay occupied with work, it keeps your mind off the heartbreak.
