Chapter TwoA Chapter by Alice Ellienne HastingsThe piercing silence of the familiar room was only disturbed by Alois’s hard breathing. He was sitting on the bed right next to Alice. His eyes were dark, his fangs sharp, salivating and trembling trying to keep himself away from her throat. He was panicking and he was unconsciously licking his upper lips lusting for her blood. “I should have known you weren’t the right choice to take care of her.” Echoed a calm voice from behind him, the words cutting though him like sharp razor blades. Alois retracted his fangs and got up in the blink of an eye, facing the figure leaning against the wall. “Brother, I’m.. I’m sorry. I wasn’t… I swear I wasn’t…” he said filled with guilt and remorse. His eyes were pleading forgiveness from the Elliot that was standing there relaxed with his arms crossed and with a mocking smile on his face. “Of course you weren’t. just like you weren’t last time.” Elliot’s voice was scolding him. He was clearly furious, but at the same time not surprised by the image, the scene he had just walked into. Alois was already feeling guilty and his brother wasn’t helping him at all. He was getting angry himself for Elliot was once again rubbing that previous action in his face. “This happened long ago and…” Alois didn’t get the chance to finish his sentence when Elliot interrupted. “Because of that we are where we are now! How many times do I have to tell you? All of this is your fault! If it weren’t for you, everything would be normal!” “Don’t you go there! Don’t you dare go there! I didn’t ask to be injured. I didn’t ask to be killed, I didn’t ask to lose our family!” The windows shut with a loud noise and the twins went quiet. “Nice entrance, Elleanor, but what are you doing here?’ Elliot asked, his teeth clenched, eyeing his brother. “When did this become about you two?” she asked, her face revealing a frown. “Alois, go home!” her voice was threatening, so Alois nodded and disappeared after giving his brother a piercing look. Elleanor turned to Elliot this time. “I’ll be feeding her this time. You, on the other hand, go take care of the trash you brought home.” “Yes, mother.” Elliot said mocking her. He was clearly angry with her presence around Alice, still he didn’t argue anymore and left in vampire speed. Elleanor bit her wrist and gave Alice her blood.

Alice woke up to a terrible scream from downstairs. “What the…?” she whispered as she woke up and got out of her bed. She was still dressed as she was when she left for the party but she did not notice as she quickly ran down the stairs to check on the screaming. As she entered the kitchen in a rush, she noticed Elleanor surrounded by an abundance of mess. It would seem as if she was cooking but she was not yet sure of it, for vampires don’t really need cooked food. “Elleanor. What the hell?” she asked looking around at the mess that covered the entire kitchen. “I was making you breakfast, but I sort of forgot how cooking works.” Elleanor said trying to get some batter out of her short-boy-ish dirty-blonde hair. “I can see that. But why are you here exactly?” “Well..” she said as she took off the apron and washed her hands inspecting her clothes to make sure they were still intact. “Someone had to watch you over the night after all that happened and also didn’t really want to stay with that one sharing a roof. I might end up killing her if I do.” She then threw allt he bowls and spoons and forks she used in the sink, and started the water. “Plus the buys were going to start a scene here and someone had to stop that.” The boys… Elliot was here. But why? I told him to stay away so why was he here again? Alice thought to herself as she moved around the kitchen going straight to the mirror on the wall, where she inspected her neck as she remembered the incident from the night before. Was it not true? Where are her bite marks? As she was carefully inspecting her neck, Elleanor noticed her and with a caring smile approached her and said “I fed you my blood so it is now gone.” Alice touched her neck once again with the tip of her fingers before she snapped out of her daydream. “We should find you an appropriate dress for the boys’ birthday ball. They chose the Renaissance theme.” “What? But… I thought they said they would do the 20s. Now what happened?” Alice asked a bit annoyed because she already had bought a gift to match the theme, a 20s Jazz music record for Elliot and a 20s suit for Alois. And what about the dress she bought last week? “Well you know that is their favorite era and Alois mentioned he wanted to see how you would have looked like in their era.” “I already know how she looked like in our era.” Alois said as he appeared out of nowhere behind Alice, placing his hands on her shoulders, squeezing them as his face got closer to her neck, placing a soft kiss on her cheek and another one on her neck. He then let go of her and moved towards the kitchen counter and grabbed an apple off it and started playing with it in the air. “What?” Elleanor asked a bit worried. “I picture her like that all the time in my head.” Alois said chuckling. “Well that’s a bit dirty and somewhat wrong.” Alice finally managed to speak. “And may I ask what are you doing here instead of planning your party?” “I, came to check up on you.” “Well as you can see I am perfectly fine so you may now go.” Alice said as she started cleaning the kitchen. “Elleanor clean up this mess! Now!” That being said, Alice went upstairs angry about the whole situation. This isn’t fair. He’s doing this on purpose to taunt me because I threw him out, just like his presence at a human party. These were the thoughts that were going through Alice’s head as she entered her bedroom . Her room was a normal-sized bedroom with a bed in the middle and a desk right next to the door, where Alice has her laptop and all her school books and notebooks all piled up on the right side and also a jar of pencils and crayons and pens next to that pile. Above the bed, Elliot helped her install some white lights, lights like others put on their Christmas tree. The purpose of these lights were to keep her company when neither one of them could “babysit” her. The wardrobe was on the left side of the bed whereas the window was on the right, covered with purple curtains to match the pastel-purple-colored walls. The mirror was big enough so she could have a full view of her entire outfit and was placed between the desk and the window-wall. Alice turned on her laptop, entered her password and started googling and reading about the Renaissance period. She loved themed parties and mostly she liked being true to the theme and sticking to the actual habits and traditions of the era she was planning. “Arisuuu!” Alois’s playful voice echoed from the hallway. Alice chuckled a bit, before saying anything. “Been watching anime again, Alois?” she spinned on her chair turning around away from the desk, now facing the bed where Alois now sat on in a lotus position as he used his vampire speed. “Not really. I just love how your name sounds like.” They stood in silence for a while.
