The Living LiesA Poem by Laura PruettThese are the silent lies The ones we live each day Showing only in our eyes In that oh so subtle way
People come and then they go - They make no sound Like an old-time picture show The movie reel goes round
Hard to breathe or eat or sleep Pretending not to care We sow only what we reap And nothing isn't fair
In these walls I am alone In pain and in disguise My heart hardened to a stone Deep within these silent lies © 2008 Laura PruettReviews
