On the Back of Winged Things

I wish to ride the back of winged things

as only one can do in dreams

And skim the top of lakes and streams.

 

I long to dance with butterflies

in deep blue cloudless skies

above the treetops so high.

 

I hope to hold you in my arms

my heart aflutter from your charms

nevermore suffering pain and harm.

 

If I close my eyes I can hear the rain

washing away all your pain

nothing but love left to gain.

 

Ride with me on the winged things

accompany me in my dreams

and skim the top of lakes and streams.
